Halstead Realtors Earn Designation

The Fairfield County offices of Halstead had a record number of realtors and directors participate in two days of intensive training at the Norwalk Inn & Conference Center this month to earn the Accredited Buyer's Representatives designation.

Halstead identified the ABR Designation Course as an added value for agents as it serves as the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation.

"We pride ourselves in training our realtors to be the best in the industry. This rigorous course sharpens their buyer-representation skills and as it is recognized by the National Association of Realtors, it provides them with more opportunities in the industry," Ned Saunders, executive director of operations for Halstead's Connecticut offices, said.

The following Halstead realtors completed the training:

In the Darien Office: Jill Keating-Brannigan, Sam Gabe, Holly Hawes, Lynn Holdt, Patty Hutchinson, Becky Munro and Wendy Ward;

In the New Canaan Office: Donna Socci, Immy Cognetta, Kathy Lawten, Dawn Sterner and Aileen Mastey;

In the Westport and Wilton Offices: Jean Coleman, Joan Daley, Ellen Garcia, Mark Gilrain, Ann Lineberger, Jeff Moore, Jacky Panagiotopoulos and Mary Kate Klemish-Boehm;

In the Stamford Office: Diane Eliades, Laura Considine, Tammy Felenstein, Michael Manzino, and Paula Kroll.

In addition to the realtors who participated in this intensive training, four Halstead directors also earned the ABR designation including Sharon Daley Maasdorp, John DiCenzo, Charlotte Felt and Ned Saunders
.

There are four requirements to attain and use the ABR designation including the successful completion of the two-day Accredited Buyer's Representative Designation Course, with an 80 percent passing grade on the exam.

The remaining three requirements must be met within the next three years and include: successful completion of an ABR elective course with an 80 percent passing grade; documentation verifying five completed transactions in which the ABR candidate acted as a buyer's representative; and membership in good standing in the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council and the National Association of Realtors.
